Stayed here for a night. The place though expensive, has gone downhill. Horrible food and bad service. Definitely never gonna recommend it to anyone. Ever. The Ac sucks, the carpet feels icky, the TVs are small and obsolete. I regretted spending $150 on this. Stayed May 2015, traveled solo

Good thing is good location, all it is. Food standard is also not bad. However, services and living is not up to the standard or at least my experience. Not recommended as an option. OK when it is mid night, you are tired and no where to go. Stayed December 2015, traveled with family

Staying at Regent was a great experience. Really enjoyed the comfortable stay, the staff was courteous and helpful. Had a neat and tidy room facing the swimming pool. A variety of dishes were available for Dinner and the morning breakfast was sumptuous specially for the "Doodh Pati". The hotel is very near to good shopping malls and Saddar. Also enjoyed a rickshaw "Thuk Thuk" ride after a long time. Would certainly come again and stay.

I stayed here for three days when the Movenpick had been fully booked for my last three days in Karachi. Check-in was infuriating. They not only charged for the room at check-in before I had a chance to see and accept the room, but they also took a 'security deposit' which was really advance payment for food, minibar, etc. I have never had such an experience at a hotel that seeks to attract international guests. Security as I walked in was also so light touch that it might as well not have been there; it seems to only be there to reassure guests rather than actually find anything. The room was okay but more expensive than what I get at Movenpick and less quality. The food was good though and the room service menu was broad and of a good quality. But the experience at check-in coloured my first experience of this hotel. Stayed April 2016, traveled on business

Over the years i have stayed in this hotel. Recently, i had a chance to stay at this hotel through out corporate package. It was a poor experience. Following are the key notes: - Hotel is normally full due to its prime location and corporate clients. - People coming through corporate are the most neglected customers. We could witness hard talks in between reception desk and clients nearly every time i passed near reception desk. - Maintenance / Housekeeping slow to respond after multiple followups. - No welcome water bottle / fruit basket / daily newspaper served. - Many equipment required repairing shower / beds / lights / electricity connection. - Toiletry maintained of poor standards - No item was present in mini bar in room. - Lockers were broken. - Main restaurant required huge furnishing. Curtains and wall paint was damaged. Could not get a chance to visit pool area or sports area. - Even one reception officer offered new room but as soon his shift was over, new reception officer denied it. Finally after complaining to manager the maitnenance work carried.

I had an important business trip to Karachi from Dubai, UAE. While I usually do not look forward to my trips to Karachi, my experience at the Regent plaza made the whole experience tolerable. As soon as I got off the plane I was treated with the utmost care. The hotel's shuttle quickly whisked me to the hotel. During checking in I was greeted by the front desk manager who noted down my requests for fresh coffee to be served. Most hotels frown on such personal service these days, but at the Regent plaza i was very pleased. I stayed in room 832, the newly renovated panorama room. Being a resident of Dubai, I was comforted to see an oasis of Dubai in such a hotel. The attention to detail of the room was excellent and better than some hotels I have stayed at in London and Paris.

Try your best to avoid this place. It has an alluring exterior but its interiors requires much-needed investment and attention. Service and dining experiences were mediocre at best. Maybe one might opt for the place especially if one is into a happening hotel as I have heard it is a pretty rowdy place.

If you are visiting any company ask them to book the room on corporate rates, in this hotel usually all the companies have special rates, even though guest is paying but honestly there is a huge saving. It is strategically located on Shahra e Faisal and all of the buses stop here... Thus people can reach to you and all know it its old name was Taj Mahal, still some taxi drivers remember it is as Taj Mahal, remember both the names. Now Rooms, they have executive floor and there is not a much of a difference (Just USD 10)... The rooms are old but usually clean. The Hotel is not very quiet, as during the day a lot of seminars are being held while a lot of TV shows are hosted here too, because of the location and convenience. Free pick and drop that is complimentary are provided. Other than breakfast, I dont recommend any further meals, they are expensive and come on, go around in the city but if you are a foreigner, ask the rent a car within the hotel to take you around, they can wait outside your restaurant for an hour at an extra charge and take you around the city too. Beach is a little far but do go in the eve, sunsets are usually very fine!
